The City Federation of Women's Clubs launches a South Texas Home Industry Campaign to boost local products and employment. Save labels from listed products for a chance at grand prizes including a jet boat, a Stuart Warner radio set, and various furniture and small gifts. Participation hinges on supporting home industries and household purchases.
Special Merit Awards will go to out-of-town contestants with the most votes. No San Antonio resident or organization may receive these awards. Pest Merit Award carries cash and merchandise prizes including a dinette suite and sun room suite donated by local firms.
Every organization can earn money by securing signatures of housewives to Home Industry Pledge Cards. Each signed card pays 10 cents and counts as 1,000 votes toward organization prizes. Only the first 15,000 cards are cash redeemable. later cards yield votes only. Cards require a housewife name from a current San Antonio telephone directory.
