Sinnott Case Reopened Debate At Presbyterian Assembly
The Associated Press reports in Bristol Tennessee that the general assembly of the Presbyterian Church of the United States debated reopening the Sinnott case from Alabama. Rev W I Sinnott faced censure as North Alabama Presbytery endorsed an Alabama constitutional amendment. An appeal from last year was ruled out of order. Overtures seek release from disapproval and a final decision was not reached. The assembly also approved a training school for lay workers and planned a Montreal North Carolina meeting to organize it. The 1913 assembly will meet in Atlanta.
