Eleven Holt Avenue Elementary first graders accompanied by Mrs Dela Beil rode the Katy railroad for their first train trip. Each pupil saved 32 cents for a ticket as a reward after a week of cleanup effort. They eagerly bought their own tickets and marveled at meeting a ticket agent, Agent W W Herndon, before boarding.
The Harlandale students toured a railroad car, met the engineer, and held their tickets as the conductor collected them. Directors of the San Antonio Boys' club plan to file their initial reports at a Wednesday breakfast meeting at the Milam cafeteria. O P Schnabel, general chairman, announced.
