Confident Paving Plan in San Antonio Unveiled
The Oakland and North streets paving, accepted by the city commission Monday, is the first of its kind in San Antonio. Mayor Brown and Commissioner Kearny express confidence it will satisfy. The five inch reinforced concrete base carries a bitumen and trap rock topping just over a half inch thick. Bitumen is spread, then a trap rock layer with a one half inch wire mesh, and finally a trap rock screenings layer to fill voids.
