Treasury Hiking Borrowing To Cover June Deficit
Washington May 14 It is reported treasury borrowing will be increased to prevent a June deficit after expenses exceed $100 million. Secretary Mellon has authorized a new low of 3100,000,000 dated May 10 raising public debt above $44,000,000,000 as bills mature. Tax receipts are not expected to meet the $649,707,500 June revenue and June borrowing depends on Farm Board needs. The Farm Board balance remains large, with around 50 million to be temporarily boosted this week.
