Muscle Shoals power sale and government revenue plan
Washington May 5 The government sells one quarter of Muscle Shoals capacity for under 600000 annually to Alabama Power. Major General Lytle Brown told the appropriations committee that revenue from power sold yields about two mills per kilowatt hour, totaling 600000 yearly. Brown defended the deal against Representative Collins saying congress has yet to settle Muscle Shoals. The supply bill also asks 244509 for dam No 2 operations next fiscal year, with modest savings versus current appropriations and budget estimates.
