Man Delivers Car Into Creek Avoiding Skating Child
W R Swearingen 38 a well driller of 312 Givens avenue swerved his car to miss a Mexican girl on roller skates and plunged down the West Commerce Street bridge into Alazan Creek. He escaped unharmed though the front of the automobile was damaged and the vehicle rested on a rock wall with rear wheels in the water. The incident occurred shortly after 6 o clock Friday afternoon as he traveled west on Commerce Street.
