Yonkers New York May 1 Wual ster Spreckles nephew of Claus Spreckles has been forbidden by Yonkers police to enter the sugar factory where he has served as general manager for 16 years. The plant of the federal Sugar Refining Company sits on the Yonkers waterfront in a newly created barred zone. Although he has lived in the United States for over 40 years Spreckles has not naturalized and was born in Germany.
May 1 reports two Waco planes crashed after maneuvers. pilots unhurt aside from minor bruises while a third aircraft burned after a high altitude fall. Cadet Lloyd Allen, 24, of New York City, died at Wilbur Wright field during a practice flight with unknown cause. Emperor Charles of Austria-Hungary plans urgent talks with the German emperor at headquarters. American railroads received 90,614,000 in government loans after four months of operation under federal control.
Four sticks of dynamite thirty feet of copper wire and detonation caps were discovered buried under the base of the steel wireless tower at Fort Bliss in El Paso Texas late yesterday. An officer training his men in entrenchment work near the tower found the explosives.
