Republic Constitution Draft Found at State Archives
A rediscovered draft of the 1836 Texas Constitution, noted by historians as among the era's most valuable documents, was found in the Texas General Land Office files in Austin. The hand is attributed to H. S. Kimble with later handwriting by Robert Potter. The draft shows final corrections and deletions, with speculation it was lost during a convention break.
