A Tuesday night fire at Schoenfield Brothers furniture store 114-116 South Flores caused about 5000 dollars in damage mostly from water. The two story brick building owned by J M Kincaid sustained light damage. origin undetermined. Stock valued between 40000 and 50000 dollars was affected by water from the upper floor. Firefighters remained overnight to dry and minimize further loss.
