Pistol Verdict Upheld in Cadillac Club Case
The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals upheld Raul T. Pereida of San Antonio for carrying a pistol at a place licensed to sell alcohol. He received a three year sentence for brandishing one pistol and carrying another in the Cadillac Club in January 1971. The court rejected his claim that the indictment charged only one pistol. The club owner testified Pereida pointed a pistol at an employee but surrendered it when asked. As he left, two officers confiscated the second pistol.
