Ex-DA Aid Sued Over $11,300 Note
The suit, filed by Vernon Tommins Adler and others, accuses Sam G. Newton former Kendall County assistant district attorney of signing a 11,300 promissory note under duress. Plaintiffs seek principal plus interest and attorney fees while Newton counters that the note is invalid and he already paid 1,256. They allege misappropriation of over 26,300 and claim the note was a settlement for such funds. The estate details and alleged influence over Mrs. Tommins’ will are part of the amended petition.
