Take Health Out Of Politics Endorsement Reversed
The Bexar County Medical Society rescinded its prior endorsement of Rep. Ridgeway s city health department reorganization bill. Officials said further study of other health measures in the state legislature prompted the move, but critics call it a bid to shift control to a new political faction. The society noted a broader state bill with merit system aims and greater federal aid, urging support for the wider reform while condemning political subterfuge.
