Odd Contract Marriage Breaks Down In Chicago Suit
In Chicago on March 8 a university couple's contract marriage failed when Leo Dolan sued his father-in-law for alienation of affections. Judge McKinley called the pact outrageous and mere commercial marriage with duties and few, if any, responsibilities of a husband. The couple had agreed post graduation to avoid supporting the wife and to limit social and career interference, with strict terms on finances and living apart during certain periods.
