Extradition Bid Fails In Edna Springer Case
Alberto Baneches a 20 year old chopper allegedly killed Leming schoolgirl Edna Merle Springer by stabbing 27 times near her home. Mexican authorities refused Texas requests to extradite him for trial in Alascosa County. Baneches, captured near the crime site in 1931, was reportedly near death after an operation in Nuevo Laredo Mexico.

Hesler 28 of 915 North Palmetto street faced a five year suspended sentence after pleading guilty to theft over 50 dollars. He admitted entering Dr. A. J. Relixy’s suburban residence with another man and taking about 280 dollars worth of property. The jury debated over an hour before verdict. Judge McCrory warned Hesler that he narrowly avoided prison.

Man Freed In Support Case At Dallas Court
Tilman T. Thomas of Dallas testified he could not earn enough money to support three children and was charged with failure to support them in Thirty-seventh District Court. The jury returned after about ten minutes. bond had been forfeited two weeks earlier and Thomas promised to return for trial Wednesday. He claimed he worked two days a week in his coffee shop job. The indictment accused him of failing to support James, Robert, and Mary Thomas, all under 16.
