Credit Slip Change Is Reported
Grocers in the Tour stamp program begin issuing credit slips instead of cash. A spokesman says participation details and exact numbers in San Antonio are not disclosed while stamps are redeemable only at issuing stores. The change aims to curb misuse and align with USDA requisitions, with shoppers in low income brackets seeing cash in change previously.

Program Helps Alcoholic Priests at Oblate College
Seminar at Oblate College of the Southwest spotlighted the Guest House treatment system in Lake Orion, Michigan, for priests and brothers with alcoholism. Arthur J. Baker reported about 500 priests and brothers treated since 1952, with an average four month stay and two years of refresher follow ups. The program, nonprofit and lay-operated, covers half the cost while benefactors fund the rest. Dual addictions to liquor and drugs are rising among clergy, with early identification and treatment emphasized.
