Stock mill hopes rise for San Antonio region
A conference of Southwest Texas sheep and goat raisers and San Antonio chamber leaders unveiled a plan for a 600000 investment to build a wool and fabric mill in San Antonio. The cooperative would issue stock valued at 100 each, with 10 percent payable in wool, and hire 100 to 135 workers. Key backers include Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association members and Chamber of Commerce directors, with C. W. Harner, S. D. Cooper, and W. B. Patterson among attendees. The project aims to boost wool prices, keep raw material in Texas, and use local power and water resources for production.
