Guards to Enter Camp for Annual Field Duty
A 30-vehicle National Guard convoy of the 1st Brigade 36th Infantry will depart San Antonio for North Fort Hood before dawn Sunday. About 1,200 guardsmen from San Antonio and nearby areas begin a two week active duty including units of the 141st Infantry, 136th Signal Battalion, 36th Aviation Battalion, and the 736th Maintenance Battalion. The move reflects Defense Department aims for greater military flexibility and mobility.
