Figures Show Profit at Airport
A 321,000 profit for a year’s operation of the San Antonio municipal airport was shown in Liguras released Tuesday by Brig. Gen. Paul Wilkins, former airport director. Wilkins, who was discharged by Mayor White after an audit was announced, claimed the audit sought to explain a loss of 832,443 in the final year. The report notes 27,896 in capital assets increase, with items including sewer work and maintenance shops. Wilkins says 40,000 was hoarded but unused for a control liner at Stinson field, and credits moves transferring 11913 from his budget to health department. He calculates net profit of 20,935 after asset additions, asserting Stinson field operations showed profit. Mayor White has signaled possible closure of Stinson.
