The famous Second Artillery punch credited with making Savannah known has reportedly failed its knockout. Governor Brown returning from a banqueting event in Savannah delivered the news in Atlanta. Randolph Anderson notes locals avoided the punch for fear it would keep them from their hotels, forcing the old recipe to be kept secret.
