Utility Users Analyzed Under RRC Priority Order
City Public Service began Friday an analysis of its customers to implement the Texas Railroad Commission order issued in Austin. CPS generators were operating on natural gas and will likely continue through the weekend due to voluntary energy reductions and cooler weather. The order creates a new class of commercial users between 1.5 and 3 million cubic feet per day, with electric generation needs considered alongside gas needs. The work aims to keep conservation voluntary as possible, with San Antonio Portland Cement Co. the only heavy industry user in the 3 million-plus range.
