Derailment Hits Crystal City Route After Heavy Rain
A northbound Crystal City & Uvalde passenger train derailed just north of La Pryor due to soft roadbed from two days of heavy rain. No injuries reported. all rail traffic suspended for washouts two miles south of Crystal City while line to Gardendale remains open for freight detours. Two inches of rain fell in Dimmit and Zava la counties, causing widespread flooding and property damage.

Runaway Buggy Dragged Man to Narrow Rescue at Plaza
D Connell narrowly escaped serious injury when his horse pulled a buggy overturned at the Dolores and South Flores junction on Military Plaza. M D Goodman, furniture van owner, stopped the horse after Connell was dragged a short distance. The buggy was wrecked and witnesses aided the partial rescue.
