Washington AAA administrator Davis estimates the 1934 cash income from wheat at about 380 million dollars including adjustments, the highest in four years. It compares with 265 million in 1933 and 195 million in 1932, with planted acreage around 6 million under the 1924-33 average and a yield near 82 bushels per acre. Projected 1935 US carryover tops 145 million bushels, versus prior July 1 figures of 1832, 1983, and 1934 dates.

Fatal stabbing at Van Daele stadium baseball game
Duap Gopeales, 34, of 199 Frio City road, died from stab wounds inflicted during an argument in the grandstand at Van Daele stadium after a Sunday baseball game at 5 p.m. Two suspects were held Monday as police investigated the incident. Antonio Cisneros, a special officer, said a fight earlier in the day led to the confrontation and that one suspect was ejected from the park. He reported hearing reports of a knife and later found another man dead in a different part of the grandstand.
