Police say 29 year old motorcycle officer Arthur Madson was found dead in his sister’s Glass Avenue home. An automatic pistol lay in his right hand and a single .45 caliber shot caused his death. Madson had been despondent over an incurable illness and had been unable to work for months. The inquest returned verdict death by his own action. He was unmarried.
Five representatives from Texas Oklahoma Missouri Arkansas and Louisiana attend a conference hosted by Employers Casualty Company and Texas Employers Insurance Association. The meeting discusses sales revival and claims conference. The event continues through Saturday.

Washington June 15 A true cosmopolite like Mrs Herbert Hoover who could be the next First Lady has been a prominent social figure in Washington for ten years. Mrs Hoover, deeply involved with her husband’s work, aided him as adviser and shared social duties of a cabinet officer’s wife, traveling with him worldwide during mining engineering ventures.
Kansas City June 15 Herbert Hoover swept the Republican convention on the first ballot winning nearly four fifths of the votes. Frank Lowden withdrew after a show of support for the partly platform plank. The choice of a second place nominee was deferred to today’s final session as the gathering in downtown hotel rooms settled over proposals and advice from Hoover in Washington.
Delegates from New York and Pennsylvania back Curtis for second place on the Republican ticket in 1925. Hoover and Curtis appear likely as national convention work stalls. Support from Midwest strength and advisers signals Curtis’s nomination path with great confidence.
