Federal troops to hem in Orozco rebels along Mexican border

Three thousand U S soldiers under General Blanca will deploy along the Chihuahua border to trap General Orozco and his rebels. The plan follows Chihuahua officials appeal to Sonora authorities for a pilot train to counter rebels and Yaqui incursions. A Yaqui band burned three bridges between Buena Vista and Corrал, Mexico.

Rebels Make Demand for Money in Torreon Raid

Rebel chief Pedro Ortiz arrived in Perron Blanco with 66 men on June 10 and demanded 500 pesos from merchants in Torreon. Merchants could only supply 35 pesos before federal troops were reported approaching. the group fled and the city quieted.
