Escort Dead Abroad Could Allow Military Escort to Canada
The Southern Department will ask the War Department to permit a military escort for American soldiers who die in the United States and whose bodies are sent to Canada. The issue surfaced after a Fort Sam Houston death and an airplane crash near Vancouver involving Lt. Trent Dodds. A change could allow escorts across the border under recent U S Canada accords.

Bread Wrapping Urged By San Antonio Health Experts
Public health specialists at a Gunter Hotel meeting urged pasteurization of milk and wrapping of bread as vital health measures. Maj. H. C. Gardner led the San Antonio health campaign, with E. H. Golaz, Maj. Bryce Delaney, and Major Bogves speaking on sanitation. Bakers’ arguments against wrapping were dismissed as impractical, and officials predicted wrapped bread will be standard soon. Also, 500 men from Fort Lee Ban, Houston, arrived at Camp Stanley to join U S guard battalions, with more recruits expected from other camps.
