No. 3 Wins New Court Test In Beulah Rountree Case
Beulah Regan Rountree seeks to set aside a marriage annulment granted to J. G. Rountree of Heeville by Judge B. B. Carr after the death of Judge Harry Howard. Guardian Burton Morris testified on June 6, 1941, that the annulment occurred hours after Howard’s death. Mrs. Rountree’s lawyers argue the law voids temporary opinions when a judge dies and seek a combined suit for annulment, divorce, and division of community property. Money matters and gifts to a daughter from Rountree's first wife are challenged as alleged fraud. another wife, Mrs. Mabel Rigby Rountree, claims similar action.
