Services Set for Retired Cop Welden Cockrell
Funeral services for Welden Cockrell a 59 year old former San Antonio policeman will be held at 2 p m Monday at the Scottish Rite cathedral. Cockrell died Thursday night at his home 1613 W Ashby after suffering a heart attack following yard work. He retired from the police force May 24 1953 after 29 years of service and later worked for a Groos National Bank position. He is survived by his son Sgt Billy Cockrell. Interment details follow.

Man Demands Missing Funds in Detroit Case
Thomas I Mines, 40, told Judge John A. Ricca police refused to return 73 dollars he had at arrest on January 5 and later pleaded guilty to possession of burglary tools. Ricca found Mines had 75.01 dollars and county paid 75 dollars for legal help. ordered 75 dollars refunded to the county and a penny sent to Mines. Memorial services will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Survivors include wife Antonia Cockrell, brother Rev. Charles Cockrell, sister Cleta Mae Blankenship, and three grandchildren.
