Mexican bullfighters’ car export crackdown raises concerns

WASHINGTON June 8 A state department spokesman said Mexican bullfighters from south of the border who had been shipping cars to Portugal for personal use face stricter limits. Current rules allowed personal use but not commercial export, and authorities report profits of 2000 to 3000 dollars per car from Portugal. The spokesman noted disapproval of further export applications as the crackdown tightens. Plastic uses for war period durable goods are also mentioned, detailing a thin plastic layer for various items to strengthen fabrics and coverings.
