Corpus Christi June 8 Sheriff John B Harney Nueces county was named on murder charges in the death May 24 of William Lovell Sammons 24 The charges filed by D P Sammons with County Judge A C Gandy were called a political move by Sheriff Harney who is unopposed in the Democratic primary July 27 Any other candidate must file by next Saturday Sammons died in a local hospital from pericarditis with peritonitis as secondary cause Sammons was arrested April 27 on complaint by Frank Upton who said he lost about 70 while with the deceased Upton withdrew the complaint and Sammons was admitted to hospital May 3 Bond of 1000 was posted immediately by Harney
