Striker to File Appeals in Sit-Down Strike Case

In Waukegan Illinois on June 9 counsel for 39 Committee for Industrial Organization unionists prepared appeals from contempt of court convictions tied to a sit-down strike at Paristeel Mattallurgical in North Chicago. Judge Theodore Forby imposed jail terms and fines after finding the unionists violated an injunction to evacuate the sit-downers on February Jask. The heaviest sentence was 240 days in jail and a $1000 fine for I. O. organizer Meyer Adelman.
