Washington June 2 Roosevelt plan on veterans cuts wins support from the special house veterans committee with modest reductions. The Connally amendment would have raised outlays and cut savings, but the compromise limits service connected cuts to 18 percent on average and preserves presumptive cases with reviews by new boards. Presumptives stay on rolls through September or October, then boards to review entitlements. If steering approves, a vote on the Connally measure will be avoided. A separate report from Germany notes Amtenie Pfealf, a Socialist member of the pedietag, found dead in bed with police reporting suicide.
