Col Thomas A Kelly of Lackland AFB says a rubbish dump near Pedernales River 40 miles from Austin yields a midden with 4000 to 6000 year old Indian artifacts. The find connects Travis and Pedernales cultures as 500 pounds of dart points are uncovered, with study by Texas University and plans to turn over the collection to the Witte Museum.
