Writ for Travel Bureaus Spurs Texas Ruling
Austin June 3 The Texas Supreme Court issued a writ of prohibition restraining the public safety and railroad commissions from pursuing former Justice court prosecutions of travel bureau operators pending further court test of the law. Attorney William Velderman of Austin represents about 20 travel bureaus facing enforcement actions after the Court of Civil Appeals upheld the law that subjects bureaus to truck regulations, effectively hindering their operation. The writ seeks to protect the substantive matter while awaiting a writ of error.
