Redistricting plans emerge before Texas special session ends
Senate committee chair proposed a plan to redraw senatorial districts in Bexar and across Texas, but time ran out with no floor action. The proposal would place most of Bexar County in Sen Bernal and Sen Rothmann’s districts, while other areas would spread to South and West Texas. A five member commission will handle redistricting, and an attorney general opinion may shape next steps.
