AUSTIN June 1 UP Governor Shivers announced Abner McCall dean of Baylor University law school to serve as a junior member of the Texas Supreme Court. His term expires December 31, succeeding Justice Will Wilson who resigned to devote time to his law firm. McCall helped revise the Texas election code in 1952 and is expected to be sworn in June 5.
A twin engine B-25 crashed south of Lowry AFB near Denver while en route from McChord to Panama City. Four men died and four were injured, including a woman. The aircraft lost power, exploded on impact near homes, setting a car and a yard ablaze as spectators described the chaotic scene and hospital reports listed critical and fair conditions for the injured.
