A wild gusher at a Driscoll, Nueces County, oil well near 3899 feet depth began Sunday and continued Monday. A 250 foot high oil and gas expulsion flooded the area, with tens of millions of cubic feet of gas and several thousand barrels of oil daily. The well lies 4000 feet south of the Clara Driscoll field discovery, in a 33 1/3 acre tract Section 194 Paws subdivision.
Syracuse reports the death of William Hutton, ruling elder of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America, during the General Assembly in session in Syracuse. Hutton, from Salt Lake City, passed away last night.
Washington June 1m Representative Marion A Zioncheck of Washington state was charged today in an order committing him to Gallinger hospital as of unsound mind. The charge sworn by E P Stump sanitary officer of the District of Columbia says the admission is for observation with report on his mental status. Police arrested Zioncheck after a high speed drive through the District and a visit to the White House offices amid a day of excitement. Naval doctors had earlier reported he had orders to lodge with the hospital.
Representatives describe a chaotic scene as two burly detectives seize Zioncheck at the city hospital. He resists, then is forced into a police car amid shouting and a tense audience of officers and bystanders. The event follows a tense pursuit and confrontation near the hospital premises.
