Courthouse officials map retrenchment plan with county
At the courthouse on Friday officials studied departments and planned to cooperate with the Besar county commissioners court on a budget cut program. Sheriff Albert Hausser announced a voluntary monthly cut of 500 dollars for his department by reducing jail guard and jail matrons pay by 15 dollars and by lowering salaries of women in the sheriff's office. Deputies retaining 150 dollar monthly pay due to 24 hour calls and car use will not be reduced. County Attorney D F Davis said he will study his department budget to make substantial cuts.
