Postmaster General Increases Parcel Post Limit to Twenty Pounds
The post office announces a new order taking effect August 15 raising the parcel post limit to 20 pounds and cutting local rates by about half. Previously eleven pounds and higher per pound charges applied. under the change 20 pounds to 150 miles costs 24 cents with roughly 0.5 cent per extra pound. Beyond 150 miles the limit stays at eleven pounds with no rate change.
