City to buy land for park and tennis court on South Zaramora Street

City commissioners agreed to pay Guimel Food Products $7500 for land on South Zaramora Street to convert it into a recreational park and tennis courts. A $12,000 damage suit by the company against the city was to be dismissed. The company had sought an injunction after a canceled building permit for a canning plant amid resident complaints about odors from decayed matter. The board also voted to pursue action with the San Antonio Water Board for $3000 in damages related to a separate dispute.
