The program allows a new Studebaker owner in San Antonio to have his car inspected twice in the first month and monthly for the next five months. Studebaker official L J Ollier presents data showing 1 000 000 cars produced this year yet demand far exceeds supply. He notes 5 500 0005 potential buyers among 7 000 000 farms and city earners, implying a persistent shortage as car ownership expands. At the Omaha speedway on July 9 Silvertown Cord tires powered Dario Resta to a five mile record at 119 mph on a Peugeot. Eddie Rickenbacker, with a Goodrich equipped Maxwell, set multiple distance records and averaged 103 mph in the 25 mile race.

Willys-Overland of Toledo reports rising international orders for the Model 75 with Rangoon dealers noting strong sales despite poor roads. Burmese buyers favor the smaller, economical Overland 75, and officials predict road improvements could double or triple future sales.
The Pathfinder twelve cylinder car runs from San Diego to beyond the Rockies toward New York with gears removed but high and reverse. Walter A. Weidely and Heinie Scholler drive, following the Lincoln highway, praised for performance and endurance.
Max Hagelstine of Studebaker warns that about half of car owners neglect or abuse their vehicles. He compares improper maintenance to railroad locomotives being run long distances without inspection and argues routine oiling and tuning keep cars, unlike engines stretched to extreme mileage.
More than five thousand Chalmers employees and families will join the annual outing on Bois Blanc Island in the lower Detroit river. The plant will close for the day, steamers chartered, and prizes awarded for factory suggestions and athletic events.
