A historical album documenting the Nineteenth Infantry, one of the oldest regular army units, is being prepared and will be released next month. It will feature individual photos of every man, plus a regimental history from before the Civil War to today, similar to the Ninety-first division album. The regiment’s notable actions include Civil War service, Indian campaigns, Philippine disturbances, and Interventions with Vera Cruz, where it was the first army unit to land. The unit has long been stationed at Fort Sam Houston and is well known to San Antonio residents.
