Samboda joins Mitt and Seria as major fields recaptured, with Allied plans to restore operations to ease oil and transport shortages. Dutch East Indies troops repulsed a counterattack near Balikpapan as Australian forces secured the oil complex and refinery centers, pushing Japanese forces inland.
