Downtown housing project OK seen by SADA board

The San Antonio Development Agency conditionally accepted C&A Rosa Verde Co. of Oklahoma City to build a 172 unit downtown housing project between Columbus Park and San Pedro Creek. Final approval awaits 90 day financing commitment and minor plan revisions amid a four hour meeting that swore in six new directors.

Cadet Policemen Approved and Training Updates

Twenty two police cadets were certified as pro bationary patrolmen by the Fire and Police Civil Service Commission after passing final examinations. They will graduate next month following additional radio and patrol car training. A five day suspension for Patrolman Jim Lubbock was upheld for an alleged kick to a suspect in the 100 block of E Houston Street last May. A lieutenant promotion exam is scheduled for October 2, with all three commissioners present including Belvin Steward.
