Filling Court Vacancy Delays Highlight ODaniel Gap
The San Antonio Light reports Governor ODaniel failed to name a successor for the Thirty seventh District Court, delaying civil cases in the county. With two district judges on vacation, Judge S G Tayloe overruled a jury trial in Dr R A Goeth versus City of San Antonio to avoid backlog, as summer sessions saw no jury trials unless both sides consent. The case was reset for September 15, following San Antonio Bar Association urges.
