New theater safety provisions require asbestos curtains reinforced with metal, weighted rigs, automatic ventilators, iron and steel stage structures, fireproof finishes, independent dressing room exits, and strict aisle, stair, and exit dimensions. Buildings must use fire doors, avoid wood wall coverings, and place boilers outside the main spaces.
The rules mandate fireproof construction, automatic sliding doors, no floor heating coils in aisles, recessed coils, encased pipes, and standpipes with hose connections.
