Britain to Ship 10,000 Tons Steel Monthly to U.S.
Washington July 8 Britain agreed to ship 10 000 tons of steel plates to the United States each month for American war production. William M Bath said the flow is a reversal of the usual export pattern and, while only about one per cent of U S monthly output, the shortage is so serious that every pound is needed. Industry spokesmen blame manpower shortages with an estimated 50 000 to 200 000 workers needed to boost output.
