The first apples of the season arrive from the north as a shortage is noted and the market is expected to stay lively for two more weeks. Watermelons rise in price while ripe apples and pears appear in good shapes though later in the season for 1908. At a San Antonio branch meeting of the National Association of Post Office Clerks last night A Tack of the mailing division was chosen as delegate to the national convention to be held in Birmingham Alabama September 2 to 6 and C B Smith was elected state delegate with San Antonio 14 in line for the next convention the association looks forward to a royal time if the city hosts the meeting.
