Philadelphia July 8 Pres Truman's aides said Eisenhower is out of the Democratic presidential race after private assurances from two close friends. James Roosevelt suggested Ike might still accept a nomat ion, while Alabama Senator Hill warned the draft issue could force the commander in chief into the draft. James Roe plans to offer a convention resolution urging Truman to step aside and nominate Eisenhower.
Air Force officers in the rank of major or higher must submit applications to join the associate course at the Air Command and Staff School in Montgomery Alabama by July 15. Brooks Field officials reminded eligible reserves on Thursday. Reporting date is August 27.

He planned sessions with James Roosevelt as soon as he arrives, aiming to resolve objections before next week’s convention. The plan includes daily noon and 6 30 p m night sessions to finish business in four days.
