Army Seems Against Blonde Hair in Defense Effort
The War Department moved to drop the blonde hair myth in the national defense program. Lyman Pratt, chairman of Brooke Marine Motorclast, visiting U S plants manufacturing corvettes for coast defense, notes progress has speeded up after initial delays. Pratt, a London resident by habit, has long observed European war efforts and now advises American manufacturers while awaiting return to England. He views the conflict as ongoing war with new techniques, not a formal armistice, and suggests airtight arguments exist for U S involvement if needed. Mrs. Pratt and one daughter join him from San Francisco. plans call for six weeks’ stay before returning to England.
